Sunnibha Corcoran BSc – Principal Consultant and Trainer
We have worked for over 15 years within the Irish Food Industry from microbiological food testing to implementing and maintaining quality systems that satisfied ISO17025 / INAB and UKAS accreditation bodies.
Since 2006 SMC Food Safety Management Consultants has been providing training solutions and individual food safety courses to a variety of sectors within the food industry including food hygiene audits (premises) and consultancy.
With over 15 years experience within the Irish food industry, Sunnibha has been providing both accredited and tailored training courses throughout Ireland in all sectors of the Food Industry. After attending Dundalk Institute of Technology (Applied Biology) www.dkit.ie and Letterkenny Institute of Technology (Food Science) www.lyit.ie , Sunnibha went on to complete her BSc Hons degree in Food & Nutrition in University of Huddersfield. Opportunity arose for her to work in the food and water testing laboratory Ryland Research Limited, which later became Eurofins Ireland, here she progressed to quality/technical manager playing a significant role in achieving INAB laboratory accreditation IS 17025 and UKAS laboratory quality system accreditation for the food microbiology laboratory.
After achieving first class honours in Further Training and Continuing Education with The University of Ireland, Maynooth her passion for training and working with people was affirmed.
A registered trainer with the EHAI www.ehai.ie since 2001, both a registered trainer and center with The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health www.cieh.org since 2010, and an associate member since 2018.
A registered training provider with Role Skillnet (info@roleskillnet.ie) courses are run regularly across the country with funding available to businesses who satisfy the criteria.
As a believer in continuing personal development, she most recently successfully completed the IRCA certified 5 day Lead Auditor IS22000: Food Safety Management Systems Training Course which has significantly broadened the scope of SMC Food Safety Consultants. On site hygiene inspections, food safety system audits, Pre-audit checklist are some of the services many businesses are currently availing of.
“I enjoy training because I like interacting with people particularly those who are confident in their field but not confident in the class room! I have yet to facilitate a training session where I have not learnt something from my learners and where they have not learnt something from each other, awareness they are doing things right, an issue that arose with an EHO or meeting like minded people from a business that they never knew was even there!
