The Principles of HACCP Training Course

This course is run as a public course or can be run on site/inhouse if preferred.

Who is it for?
The course is designed for those in food businesses where a food safety management system has been implemented or where they are responsible for implementing a plan. It will ensure individuals understand the principles and purpose of HACCP and are able to apply it correctly in their own workplace.

Course Description
The course will be tailored to meet the requirements of your business and will include the following:

Introduction to food safety management systems

Food safety hazards & Controls

Outline the 12-step HACCP system

Pre-requisite programmes and the role of the HACCP team

Flow Diagram & HACCP Decision Tree

Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points

Monitoring & Documentation

After successful completion of a test paper candidates will be certified by SMC Food Safety Management Consultants.

Duration: This course is run over 1 day (usually 9.30-4.30pm)

Note: It is strongly recommended that candidates have completed Food Hygiene (level 2 Training) prior to attending this course.


Course duration: 1 day

Cost: €250 pp (or group of 10 (max 15) discount available)

A light lunch, tea/ coffee included – Please advise us of any special dietary requirements e.g. Allergies

Location: Oriel Hub, Finnabair Industrial Estate, Dundalk.

Certification: The course is certified by SMC Food Safety Management Consultants on successful completion of a short test paper – Activity sheets and short videos may be used to support training.
